Orange County, California

International Students at OCC

Set yourself on an educational path that leads to English and career success. With IEC@OCC, students first master the English skills necessary to succeed in college, and then transfer to Orange Coast College, which transfers more students to the UC and CSU systems than any other community college in the area.

When not in school (or participating in an IEC-organized event), IEC students enjoy everything that Southern California has to offer. The beaches, the parks, the shopping, the safe and welcoming communities and charming neighborhoods, and the local cuisine make living in Orange County a dream!

Explore Los Angeles

The City of Angels needs no introduction: Hollywood’s bright lights have made it world famous! IEC@OCC students take advantage of Orange County and LA public transportation to explore everything Los Angeles has to offer. Stroll down Hollywood Boulevard, check out the luxury goods sold on Rodeo Drive, spot some celebrities in Beverly Hills, or get some culture by visiting one of the city’s incredible museums (check out the J. Paul Getty Museum! It’s free!). Grab a hotdog at a Dodgers or Angels Game, score tickets to a Lakers Games at Staples Center, or see a concert: there’s always something happening in LA!

Get involved!

Volunteer, join a club or team, or attend local fairs and festivals, and you’ll soon feel as if you’re a member of the OC community. (Plus, your English skills will continue improving as you make American friends!) IEC@OCC’s student services will happily provide you with the information you need regarding local events happening on the OCC campus and beyond.

Stay active

Orange County’s gorgeous year-round weather makes it a perfect place to stay active! In addition to numerous water activities such as surfing, body boarding, paddle boarding, kite surfing, and kayaking, IEC@OCC students have the opportunity to enjoy the recreational activities offered by the city. Beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, miles of hiking trails, and beach boardwalks for running/walking are perfect for exercise.
