Gap Year for International Students
at Orange Coast College

Improve your English, study at a U.S. college, and immerse yourself in American culture with IEC@OCC’s Gap Year program!

In this one-year program, students first take Intensive English classes with IEC@OCC and then attend courses at Orange Coast College.

Gap Year program details

  • Two sessions (16 weeks) of English courses at IEC@OCC (September 3 - December 18, 2019; Orientation August 28 - 29)
  • One semester (4 courses) at Orange Coast College (January 17 - May 23, 2019)
  • Variety of courses choices (such as Architecture, Business, Sports, Theater, Dance, Art, Engineering, Computer Science, and Music)
  • Homestay or furnished apartment accommodation
  • Suggested English level: CEFR B1, IELTS 4.5, or iBT49

*Gap Year participants must meet the OCC English language proficiency requirement.

Accommodation

Gap Year students may choose a homestay or residential apartments through Kapi Residences, a professional placement service for students living in off-campus housing.
